East Legon Football Academy Founder Honoured at Ghana Forty
Under 40 Awards
Winston Yeboah Danso, founder of the East Legon Football
Academy, was recently recognized for his contributions to youth sports at the
8th Annual Forty Under Forty Awards in the Sports and Development category.
Established in 2019, the academy has become a training hub for young
footballers, aiming to develop their talents from an early age.
Mr. Danso's approach focuses on not only refining football
skills but also providing mentorship and education to ensure holistic growth.
His academy offers a structured environment where aspiring athletes can excel
both on and off the pitch. The players benefit from professional training,
academic and athletic scholarships, and access to crucial resources like soccer
kits and well-maintained pitches.
In accepting the award, Mr. Danso expressed gratitude to his
staff, the players’ families, and the young athletes themselves. He also thanked
Former President Kufuor for his ongoing support and acknowledged Mr. Cyril
Yeboah Danso of Yehans International for his mentorship.
The Forty Under Forty Awards celebrates young leaders whose
efforts have positively impacted their communities. East Legon Football
Academy’s recent victory in the 2024 Dana Cup U-14 Championship exemplifies the
academy's success in fostering young talent and advancing the role of sports in
Ghana’s youth development.
