Philomina Obeng Donkor of Greater Accra Ridge -Hospital to be honoured by Humanitarian Awards Global
Philomina Obeng Donkor of Greater Accra Ridge -Hospital will be honoured at this year’s Humanitarian Awards Global ceremony.
The awards ceremony will take place at the Labadi Beach Hotel on September 18, 2021.
This year, organisers of the prestigious award have introduced a new category, ‘Frontline Covid-19 Heroes’, which seeks to unearth and appreciate outstanding health workers and staff from several institutions who have been very instrumental in the Covid-19 fight.
The letter nominating Philomina Obeng Donkor said, “HAG would like to honour you as a Covid-19 Hero for exhibiting exceptional leadership and undeniable sacrifices for humanity and your actions of restoring hope for the Ghanaian people in the midst of a global pandemic.”

Has worked previously, as the Head Nurse in Acute and Critical Care settings as well as Post-anaesthesia care areas . Currently a member of the COVID-19 Case Management team working as one of the Senior Nurses with the COVID Intensive Care Unit(CICU) of the Greater Accra Regional Hospital(Ridge Hospital).*
Has been *WORKING* with COVID-19 Case Management team since March 2020 when the GARH received and admitted its first COVID-19 positive patient
* Also currently a member of the GARH Emergency Drugs and Monitoring Team.
* Was in June this year 2021, commended by UNICEF Ghana for her dedication committed to her work.
*In addition to the profession as a Nurse, she is also into relationship coaching.

Despite the hardships and health risks, thousands of essential frontline workers continued to serve the populace during the upsurge of the pandemic.
