Dr Emmanuel Amankrah of LEKMA Hospital
will be honoured at this year’s Humanitarian Awards Global ceremony.
The awards ceremony will take place at the Labadi Beach Hotel on September 18, 2021.
This year, organisers of the prestigious award have introduced a new category, ‘Frontline Covid-19 Heroes’, which seeks to unearth and appreciate outstanding health workers and staff from several institutions who have been very instrumental in the Covid-19 fight.
The letter nominating Dr Emmanuel Amankrah said, “HAG would like to honour you as a Covid-19 Hero for exhibiting exceptional leadership and undeniable sacrifices for humanity and your actions of restoring hope for the Ghanaian people in the midst of a global pandemic.”
Dr Emmanuel Amankrah is a young Doctor who is passionate about healthcare and bringing new dynamics into the Medical field. He is a Medical Media Personality, using social media and traditional media to educate and sensitize people on health and lifestyle. He has a YouTube channel where he regularly does health tutorials, gives medical advice and advocacy for health related issues. This was inspired by the 3rd Sustainable Development Goals (SDG No. 3) which is Good health and well being.
He is the Medical Director for Verifie Health Ghana, an eHealth institution which is aimed at sensitizing all sexually active people and people of reproductive age to take charge in safeguarding their sexual and reproductive health.
He is also a Senior Medical Officer at LEKMA Hospital where he plays many roles.
He is also a Lead team member of the LEKMA Hospital COVID-19 team and Lead Clinician at the LEKMA Hospital COVID Treatment Center.
To help decrease and combat stigmatization and fear against People who have tested positive for COVID and people who have recovered he’s the COVID Resource person in TV 3 New Day and discuss COVID-19 and it’s dynamics and subsequently the COVID Vaccines, bring people who have recovered to share their story, dispel rumors and myths associated with COVID-19 and also help encourage people who have the condition. He played a major role reassuring people and addressing people’s fear in taking the COVID Vaccine.
He has hosted numerous social media interactive sessions to discuss in great extent COVID, it’s complications and the vaccine.
He’s been a panelist on many seminars on COVID.
He has held forums with Tertiary Universities such as Ashesi University, KNUST and others on COVID.
