The Executive Director of Solomon Investment Ghana Limited, Dr. Chris Kpodar, has suggested Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a treatment for the corruption canker.

According to him, AI apps will completely replace manual tasks that are ripe for manipulation.

Dr. Kpodar, who serves as the Center for Greater Impact Africa's (CGIA) Chief Technical Advisor, stressed that "artificial intelligence has the power to reveal or even predict corruption or fraud that was previously undetectable or completely impossible to detect."

"The government must invest in artificial intelligence for an everlasting solution to corruption if it wants to be credible in every sector."

At a forum hosted by the Ghana News Agency Tema Regional Office, Dr. Kpodar, who served as Consultant for Africa and the Middle East, gave his opinion on investment advice to governments and businesses.

Dr. Kpodar, a global expert in artificial intelligence, spoke on the topic of "Artificial Intelligence and Sustainable Development," and stated that using AI as a tool to fight corruption necessitates redesigning systems, particularly those that have historically been prone to bribery and corruption, and incorporating transparency, integrity, and trustworthiness.

He said that without strong public oversight, there is a significant risk of money being lost to fraud and corruption, necessitating government investment in artificial intelligence.

According to Dr. Kpodar, artificial intelligence is the modernisation of all tried-and-true investigative techniques that cannot be affected by the use of a computer.

However, Dr. Kpodar applauded the government for starting the digitization system, noting that "digitization is a prerequisite for the deployment of Artificial Intelligence as an anti-corruption weapon."
