In connection with the alleged attack on Abubakari Sadiq Gariba, a radio host with Dagbon Radio in Tamale, two persons have been detained by the police.

Iddrisu Hardi alias Pagaaza and Mumuni Osman, the accused, are being held by police and collaborating with investigations.

According to a police statement released on Monday, the accused will shortly appear in court.

On May 3, 2023, when he was presenting a live radio broadcast, Abubakari Sadiq is accused of attacking the radio host. 

When the police arrived at the scene after the incident, the suspects had already fled. 

Two anonymous males accosted the victim in his seat in a video that was posted to social media and threatened to smack him if he spoke any more. 

Then Gariba got to his feet and followed the assailants out of the studio. 

Gariba said that the incident occurred because he had attacked the individual in a television interview for bringing up the Abudu and Andani feud during a political campaign.
