True Love is Built on Trust, Not Money - Rev. Dr. Nana Yaa
Prempeh
Renowned relationship coach, Rev. Dr. Nana Yaa Prempeh, has
emphasized that true love thrives on understanding, trust, and full disclosure,
rather than financial wealth. Speaking on GTV’s breakfast show on January 17,
2025, she highlighted the importance of prioritizing genuine connection over material
gain in relationships.
“Money is an addition; it’s a bonus. True love does not
exist because of money,” Rev. Dr. Prempeh stated, noting that while financial
stability can enhance happiness in marriage, it should not define love.
Reflecting on her own marriage, she shared that she and her
husband started with very little, even sleeping on a mattress on the floor for
years. However, their mutual understanding and trust sustained their bond.
She underscored the value of full disclosure in building
trust, explaining that transparency between partners prevents external
negativity from harming the relationship. “Full disclosure in a relationship
really turns away all the negatives that a third party might bring,” she said.
Rev. Dr. Prempeh also encouraged women to recognize a man’s
potential rather than focusing solely on his current financial status. “If he
doesn’t have money today, he may have a degree, a skill, or a trade. He could
become the next Bill Gates of Ghana,” she remarked, urging women to look for
partners with ambition and growth potential.
Concluding her remarks, she advised choosing a partner who
is thoughtful, innovative, and reliant on faith. “The best man for a spouse is
a deep thinker - someone who gets ideas, waits on God, and works to solve
problems. Together, you can create great success,” she said.
Her insights serve as a reminder that true love is rooted in
trust, mutual understanding, and shared vision, rather than material wealth.
