At Ayeduase in Kumasi, two purported homosexual men were beaten up by individuals supposedly belonging to the Glory be to God hostel.
A reporter for Neat FM Ola Michaels described the events leading up to and following the attack on the accused gays.
“There is a hostel called the Glory of God or Glory be to called which is closer to the Wisconsin junction. There are some boys from the hostel who come across the street to buy fried egg and these two boys who were tagged as gays, indeed they looked like girls also came to that same place to buy fried egg and drinks. Then these boys who saw them asked why they were behaving as women and that was it”
Ola Michael continued by describing how the aforementioned individuals violently beat the well-known LGBT people as though they were robbers.
He said, "These gay males were stoned while in the gutter as if they were thieves after being assaulted for a very long period and put there.
The discovery follows a recent development in Ghana's effort to stifle the LGBTQI+ community's activities there.
Currently before Parliament is a measure that would make LGBTQI+ activity illegal.
