Ghanaian politician, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa who is the
Member of Parliament for North Tongu Constituency in the Volta Region, has earned
a well-deserved spot among Africa's most impactful 100 change makers.
In a continent brimming with talent and dedication, it takes
extraordinary commitment and compassion to stand out as a beacon of positive
change. One of the many instances highlighting Ablakwa's dedication to
uplifting lives and fostering education is his noble act in August 2022, when he
granted a full scholarship to Samelia Mekporsigbe, an 8-year-old class 3 pupil
of Battor DA Primary School.
Samelia's remarkable achievement in winning the 2022 Volta
Regional Competition organized by USAID Learning Initiative showcased not only
her academic prowess but also the transformative power of education. By
extending this scholarship, Ablakwa not only recognized Samelia's talent but
also ensured that her potential would not be limited by financial constraints.
Ablakwa's commitment to excellence and service has earned
him recognition and accolades throughout his career. From the TNG Corporate
Excellence Awards in Accra to being honored as the Outstanding Youth Leader in
West Africa by the West Africa Students' Union in Kaduna, Nigeria, his achievements
underscore his tireless efforts in making a positive impact on society.
Moreover, his special Alumnus Award by the National Union of
Ghana Students and the Old Vandal Award further attest to his dedication to his
alma mater and his contributions to student welfare and development.
Beyond awards and accolades, Ablakwa's impact resonates
deeply within the communities he serves. His recognition by the Mepe
Traditional Council and the Tepa Traditional Council, where he is
affectionately known as the "Mmrantiehene," reflects the respect and
admiration he commands among traditional leaders and community members alike.
As a Member of Parliament and a philanthropist, Samuel
Okudzeto Ablakwa continues to inspire and lead by example, demonstrating that true
leadership is defined not by titles or accolades but by the positive change one
brings to the lives of others.
In honoring him among Africa's most impactful 100 change
makers, we celebrate not only his achievements but also the countless lives he
has touched and transformed for the better.
