Henry OSABUTEY bagged 2 prestigious awards as “Most Influential Youth Leader” and “outstanding SDG4 advocate of the Year”


*Henry Osabutey, a Ghanaian humanitarian and champion for sustainable development goals (SDGs), received the prestigious Global Humanitarian Award as outstanding SDG4 advocate of the year*


Henry OSABUTEY is a dynamic, innovative, and creative teacher with the Ghana Education Service -( Gomoa Central) who has been able to translate his vision of helping the less privileged into reality has received global recognition for his outstanding contribution to the implementation of the SDGs.

He is an avid advocate for quality education. He believes every child deserves a decent and quality education regardless of their geographical location, religious affiliation, physical ability, and economic status. He is passionate about making a difference in his generation due to his constant capacity building and enrichment of knowledge and ideas. He has a strong interest in human rights, gender, disability, technology, and entrepreneurship as a tool to drive innovations and sustainable development in his community.


Henry was awarded the "Best SDG 4 advocate of the year" at the Humanitarian Awards Global 2021. The award was given to him in recognition of his exceptional skill in using education as a tool to initiate sustainable development in his community aimed at supporting schools and school children in deprived communities.

The Humanitarian Awards Global stands to celebrate and honor the extraordinary gifts the world has been blessed with. Awards were presented to organizations and individuals working to achieve the SDGs. Additionally, philanthropists and NGOs in the area of healthcare were honored, with special recognition for personalities that played vital roles in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic locally and internationally.


Henry Osabutey earlier in August was recognized and awardedas the “Most Influential Youth Leader of the year at the 5th Ghana - Nigeria Achievers Awards” He was also inducted into the “Ghana Nigeria Achievers Award Hall of Fame. 

Ghana Nigeria Achievers Award (GNAA 2021) is an event that recognizes the effort of individuals making impact and unites the two countries. Other prominent individuals including The National Chief Imam His imminent Alhaji Usmanu Shaributu, Hon. Frank Anndoh-Dompreh MP and Majority Chief whip, High Chief Amb. Sobomabo Jackrich, Hon. Abinye Blessing Pepple - House of assembly member representing the people of Bonny state constituency of River state of Nigeria, and other great organizations and individuals were honored for their commitment to development, growth and the peaceful co existence of the two countries. 


He founded the the Henry OSABUTEY Education Foundation (HOEF) in 2011 aimed at supporting underprivileged school children in deprived communities to have access to decent and quality education. The foundation focuses on promoting literacy, numeracy, science, technology, environmental awareness among young students through sponsorship of educational projects that are aimed at improving the academic performance of students".

HOEF is a registered non profit organization that also focuses on advocating for inclusive and decent education for every child especially those in deprived communities in Ghana. According to the UNCRC right of education “No person shall deprive a child to education, immunization, adequate diet, clothing, shelter, medical attention or any other thing required for their development. This is done by providing basic facilities like books, pencils, school uniforms and other teaching and learning materials including computers, laptops, projectors, smart-boards. Social  amenities like classroom blocks with libraries and solar lights for learning inclusive. HOEF partners global and local organizations in fulfilling its mandates.
