David Yirenkyi who is registered Prosthetist and Orthotist is awell-recognized and registered Allied health Professional who works at New Crystal Health Services Limited a leading and one of the fastest growing private healthcare service providers in Ghana. A hospital that focuses on Family and Patience Centered Care (FPCC) and are committed to meeting the ever-changing needs of our communities by constantly monitoring the environmental and social landscape to identify existing, and emerging healthcare threats that confront our communities. New Crystal Health Services Limited currently operates seven networked branches in two regions and currently has won the prestigious Ghana Club 100 on four (4) occasions.
For the past years of working, he found himself as anextremely dedicated Prosthetist and Orthotist professional. Apart from being an absolute joy to work with, his work is detail-oriented and meticulous as he enjoys taking challenges. Due to a demonstrated excellent, knowledge and competence in advanced practice in Orthopedics and rehabilitation collaborated with interdisciplinary teams to ensure smooth working, he has helpedestablished a Prosthetics and Orthotics Unit at NEW CRYSTAL SPECIALIST CENTER which has add up to their departmental unit they already have and has has use such opportunity to be fabricating Prostheses (artificial legs and hands) and orthoses (braces and splints) enable people with physical impairments or functional limitations to live healthy, productive, independent, dignified lives and to participate in education, the labour market and social life. The use of prostheses or orthoses has reduced the need for formal health care, support services, long- term care and caregivers. Without access to prostheses or orthoses, people who need them are often excluded, isolated and locked into poverty, which increases the burden of morbidity and disability.
He has also work with different NGO’S AND agencies locallyand internationally in providing free medical care and free hand prosthesis and wheelchairs for people in remote areas. He hasused the social media, especially Facebook (David Yirenkyi), TikTok (yirenkyideprosthetist) and Twitter (davidyirenkyi46) in public health education which has help remove physical barriers that traditionally impede access to healthcare support and resources and has improve professional networking, clinical education, and patients' health promotion.
He always takes up extra responsibility, performed all work in a timely manner, and provided patient comfort through effective utilization of resources. He is positive that I have continue to be more productive in the facility I work as a talented professional who has been exceptionally well-trained.
His outstanding service to his nation has attracted him some citations and awards of honor from THE NATIONAL ACADEMY OF STUDENT ACHIEMENT AWARDS’S GHANA. (NASAAG 2021) as the INNOVATIVE STUDENT of the year 2021.
